I just finished my first load of laundry for the day.
Soccer laundry. It’s been to overflowing lately, as my son has outside practice each evening. He wears many layers in this 30-40 degree weather. That equals much laundry each night, or in this case, morning.
There’s something about laundry. It never really gets finished. We may catch up one day, but there is more waiting for us tomorrow.
That’s the same with doing dishes, vacuuming, cleaning our cars. We continually find ourselves doing these over and over and over. There’s really no end.
It’s kind of like what we do as women. I may not know all you do, but I know you are doing things to bless others. We keep doing what we do, to make others’ lives easier, to make another’s life more beautiful, to help someone along in their journey. Our families. Our parents. Our neighbors. Our co-workers. Our bosses. Our friends.
As in Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus is very clear that when we help, serve, give to others, (even to the “least”) we help, serve, give to Him. Each time we wipe a runny nose. Each time you are there for your aging parent. Each time you just stop in and visit your grandmother. Each time we make a meal for a sick neighbor. Each time we take a friend to church. Each time we take a cup of coffee to our spouse. Each time you go the “extra mile” for a customer. I’d even add, each time we do a load of laundry to bless our family. Each time we do an act of kindness or compassion, it’s as if we are doing it to Jesus.
And this kind of giving is never-ending. You don’t have to look far to find someone who could use a blessing from you. That’s what we do as women, don’t we? Over and over and over, we bless others.
The next time I’m up early doing a load of soccer practice clothes, if I’m tempted to grumble under my breath, what a difference it’ll make thinking I’m doing Jesus’ laundry!! That puts a whole different spin to it, doesn’t it?
My encouragement for us today… keep on doing what your doing. Keep on blessing others. Keep on showing love to those around you.
Keep on keeping on.
Don’t tire of doing what God has called you to do. Even if no one ever notices. Even if no one thanks you. Even if no one seems to care. Jesus notices. Jesus thanks you. Jesus cares. We are serving our Savior!
May Jesus fill you with great joy as you are out there blessing others today!

Today is W2W (Woman to Woman) Wednesday! Our mid-week segment of encouragement and hope, especially designed for us of the female gender. My friend Meredith at www.4hisgloryblog.com began W2W. Let’s encourage one another below!
Thanks, Julie, for reminding me how God sees each and every little thing I do. He notices it all. And that is all that matters. Not the acclaim of others or of this world…the acclaim of the Lord. It definitely helps me to keep my focus on Him and His love motivates me to cheerfully serve Him and others and “Keep on keeping on.”
