173. The Value of Being Still with Marnie Hammar

by | Nov 26, 2024 | Podcast

Today in our guest episode for this month, I share the inspiring conversation I had with friend and fellow writer, Marnie Hammar. Even though Marnie wears many hats in her everyday life, when I think of Marnie, I think of how she prompts me to hear God’s voice the loudest in my life and also how she shines the light of Jesus incredibly brightly in this world. Her words inspired me to embrace stillness every day, and they encouraged me in my faith. I’m believing they’ll do the same for you.

The Value of Being Still with Marnie Hammar

Our guest, Marnie Hammar shares her heart and her wisdom with us today.

Our conversation reminds me how God uses our stories for our growth, for the good of others, and for His glory. As we walk through the various experiences of this life–this adventure with God–He helps us to spur others on in the process. I’m drawn to the Scripture of Hebrews 10:24-25 which reads, “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” Marnie is so good at this!

Marnie Hammar writes about how freedom isn’t found in being perfect, but in knowing God deeper and hearing Him louder. Wife for 29 years and boy mama (19, 16, & 13), Marnie’s non-writing life revolves around taming the stinky, restocking the pantry, and cheering for her boys at soccer (loudly) and golf (quietly).

Pre-kids, Marnie earned her MS from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and worked in communications in the corporate world and at Harvard University and Babson College. She is a regular contributor for She Reads Truth and Family Christian, and she loves hosting the Hear Him Louder Guest Essay Series, and coming soon, the Hear Him Louder Podcast.

You can find her work published at (in)courage, The Joyful Life Magazine, Revelation Wellness and Fathom Mag. She is currently working on her first book.
