Friday, Saturday & Sunday…
What gorgeous days that finished out our Spring Break! God truly blessed us with unbelievable weather!
We spent much time at home the last three days. Ali, Zach & I went out to lunch together on Friday. We relaxed, napped and enjoyed each other’s company the rest of the time. I used to feel guilty about doing “nothing.” I had a twinge of guilt on Friday, but that quickly passed. 🙂 It felt good to refresh and recharge!
I finished reading Kaffir Boy, a book that Zach is reading in English class at school. It has been an interesting book for us to read together. I usually don’t read the same books as the kids do in school, but when a note came home from the teacher saying that there are some “optional” chapters based on content in this book, I thought I had better check it out. I’m glad I did. It was an autobiography of Mark Mathabane who grew up in apartheid South Africa. It was an eye opener for me, as I’m sure it is for all the 9th grade English students!
It was enjoyable to have to the time to read more, and spend some quality time in prayer and in reading God’s Word!
Bill has been working outside on Zach’s new soccer field. He planted grass seed yesterday. We are now praying for God to grow it! 🙂
Ali and Zach went back to school today. I went back to BSF this morning (what a treat!). And I’ll go back to the Mission tomorrow. I’m thankful and grateful for the time we’ve had together this past week. It’s a week I’ll cherish for a very long time!
