Wow, it’s been a week since I’ve written a post on my blog! Time has flown, and I can honestly say, I’ve missed writing!
Our family left for vacation early Friday morning. We’ve been on the go ever since…
…We toured the St. Louis Aquarium, and did the “expanded tour,” where we were able to feed different animals such as a kikachu, a sloth, an anteater and touch a hedge hog, sharks, turtles, and others. I’m glad we did it, but it won’t be one we’ll do again. Our kids must be too old to be interested in those things anymore, I guess. 🙂
…We cheered our Cardinals on Friday night during the game against the Blue Jays. Bill got a great deal on an “all inclusive package” for the game. Was a great night, despite the Cardinals’ losing.
…We met up with Aunt Wendy & Uncle Dirk on “The Hill” for lunch. A cool part of St. Louis we’ll go back to again! It was wonderful to spend time with Wendy & Dirk again. Our lunch was great at Guido’s!
…Ali wanted to revisit the Galleria mall. She had a paycheck burning a hole in her pocket. It’s so fun to watch her shop…have never seen anyone get so excited about shopping! Zach was bored out of his mind. 🙂
…We made a stop at the Union Station and ate dinner one of our favorites in St. Louis…Landry’s. We love sitting on the deck and love the atmosphere. Another great meal!
…We drove 9 hours to Pigeon Forge, TN on Sunday and arrived at our cabin around 7pm. A beautiful cabin in the heart of the Smokies. 🙂 We stopped at the grocery store and stocked our frig for the next few days.
…Monday morning we spent time in Gatlinburg and took the Ober Gatlinburg tram up and down the mountain. Cool scenery…it was a beautiful day.
…Afterwards we stopped at the Apple Barn Winery and the Creamery. Enjoyed ice cream cones and smoothies! 🙂 We also did a small amount of shopping at the Tanger Outlet Mall in Pigeon Forge before finding the local Buffalo Wild Wings to have dinner. Ali can’t seem to get enough of that place! Great food and great service by our server, Jessica!
…We took in a late movie–Cars 2 at 9:45 p.m. That’s something we don’t do at home (I’m usually getting ready for bed at that time at home)! Fun and cute movie! We all enjoyed it, but I was ready to get to bed afterwards!
…This morning we hiked in the Smoky Mountains to Clingman’s Dome. Pretty cool hike, but extremely uphill! We even crossed the Appalachian Trail!
We have a little less than a week of our vacation left, and I am cherishing every moment of it that I can. God has blessed us in many unexpected ways so far, and I look forward to seeing Him in the things we get to experience on this trip even more! I will post pictures later! 🙂
I am beginning to feel refreshed and have gotten some much needed rest on this trip, despite how on-the-go we’ve been. I’m thanking God today for this wonderful family time together! I know trips like this won’t happen that much in the future as Ali and Zach get older. I’m thankful we can do this this year!
Have a great week!
