Thank You, God, For Never Letting Go

by | Sep 26, 2021 | Love God

If there’s no other truth we cling to today, may it be this: God never lets go. He never lets go of us, no matter what we do or don’t do. No matter how we behave or what we believe. No matter what. He will never let go of you or me. Thank you, God, for never letting go.

All week long we’ve discussed letting go. On the podcast, in my social feeds, and at our Encouragement for Real Life Community Facebook group. Letting go can be difficult. It can usher in all sorts of emotions and feels. Yet, we’ve determined it’s okay to let go, especially when God is guiding us to. Letting go can be a blessing. It can open up ways for God to move in our lives, and He may be working mightily in our letting go.

Thank you, God, for never letting go.

Yes, it’s okay to let go.

The thing is, God knows what’s best for us. He will never guide us to things or in ways that are opposite of His best. Neither will He take us in directions that will be unhealthy or unholy for us. We can trust Him as He directs our paths.

Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.

Proverbs 3:5-6 MSG

Yes, He will keep us on track. Even as we let go and let Him lead us.

As we let go, God will never let go.

He will always have us safe and secure in the palm of His hand.

Here are a few scriptures to encourage us.

I give to them the gift of eternal life and they will never be lost and no one has the power to snatch them out of my hands.

John 10:28 TPT

Your hand would always be there to guide me. Your right hand would still be holding me close.

Psalm 139:10

The Lord will not abandon his people; he will not desert those who belong to him.

Psalm 94:14 GNT

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9 NIV

Thank you, God, for never letting go.

No matter how you feel right now or what is going on in your life, cling to these verses. Do a search to find more. Thank God for never letting go of you. Because He never will. He will always keep you close, as close as in the palm of His hand. May this truth encourage you, especially if you’re in a season of letting go.

If you haven’t had a chance to listen to the podcast for this week (When Letting God Is Best, But Not Easy), I invite you to do so. I may just encourage your heart in ways you didn’t know you needed.

Stay encouraged, my friend.

Much love,

Thank you, God, for never letting go.

Julie, God does indeed have YOU and ME! God holds us in the palms of his hands. I take so much comfort in that. Yes, letting go can be so scary. I cling to the promises found in Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper and not harm you, to give you a future with hope.” Prayers for you my friend!

Julie I am beside you at Live Free. Just this morning I was thinking about our ‘times of testing’ and how each test prepares us to walk through and pass the next harder test. We can pass because we have learned we can trust Him. We have learned to let go and surrender ourselves to Him! Trusting, letting go and surrendering ~ is this not how we live free? Many blessings to you!

    Julie,
I cannot believe how timely this post’s scheduling was. Today, literally was that day for me. God is asking me to let go and it has me literally shaking. “But God” I keep pleading… And He simply remains steady and calm … And then this.
    Thank you.

Hi Kim! I found the “I got this” piece at Books A Million in Sarasota in March. Little did I know how much I would need that very reminder every day. If there’s one in your area, they might have one just for you! Blessings, dear friend.

My good friends since 5th grade, Karen and Sheila, joined me on the podcast this week. When I asked them what suggestions they had for someone who's struggling with negative self-talk or degrading thoughts, Sheila shared her wisdom in saying to look for the positive. There's always something positive. But sometimes we get fixed on the negative instead. We need to remember the positive.

Isn't this true? What are you focused on today? The negative or the positive? What positive can you remember today?
