Sunday was Day 2 of our Spring Break.
It was a relaxing day. I spent a good part of the morning reading my Bible and in prayer. I finished my BSF lesson, finding Ephesians to be refreshing and encouraging once again!
We chose to stay home Sunday. I finished our Winter 2011-2012 photo book, since in my mind it’s officially SPRING!! The weather sure feels like it, even though the calendar says spring starts next week. 🙂
I stayed in my p.j.’s until around 4pm. We went to dinner at a local restaurant…I didn’t feel like cooking, and no one else did here either. It was a perfect way to end a relaxing day!
Now, yesterday (Day 3) was a bit more exciting!
Zach officially began soccer practice with tryouts taking place yesterday through tomorrow. He had lifted weights during the off-season and also participated in open gym on Sunday nights. We prayed on the way to practice yesterday for God to place him on the team that God wanted him to be on. We’ll see which team he is placed on. 🙂 Zach said he played his best…at both practices – noon and 7pm. I’m very proud of him!
In between practices, we went to the local mall to find Zach some summer clothes, as he’s grown out of many from last year. American Eagle seems to be his favorite clothing store right now. Of course, Ali found some deals too…especially since we had a 20% off coupon for the entire store. Ali ventured into Victoria’s Secret, as Zach boycotted that store and went to GameStop.
I tried looking for a new bra…what a nightmare! The girl who tried to help me looked Ali’s age. She must not have been trained very well, and really didn’t listen to me for what I was looking for. I couldn’t wait to leave, and end the nightmare. I really don’t care to do that again anytime soon. I don’t like talking negatively about a store, but I will probably never visit that particular store ever again based on yesterday’s experience. (And I still want to find a new bra!!!) It’s a good thing Zach was off doing something else. 🙂
Ali and I stopped at Penney’s after getting Zach to practice. I am impressed with what that store is doing now…with their prices and with their styles! Prices seem to have gone down, and styles have been updated! I have to say, though, it felt weird not carrying with me coupons from Penney’s. I found a couple of crop pants, and summer shirts. Ali found me a blouse to wear at her graduation party. 🙂 She found some cute things too! We even tried on some dresses we would never wear…just to see what they would look like on us. The kimono-type dress I tried on was something else…Ali tried not to make me feel bad. It was hideous! I should have taken a picture of it!
It was an all-around great day! The memories were priceless! I’m certainly not wanting Spring Break to end anytime soon! 🙂
