It’s Day 19 of our series. How are we doing so far in these 31 Days of Living a Real Life? I pray journeying together as been a joy for you as it has been for me!
We’ve covered much territory over the last eighteen days. I’m finding I’m much more intentional and conscious about being real in all situations I experience in this life. I hope you’re finding that in yourself too.
We’ve discussed how a real life isn’t perfect, nor is living one a piece of cake, but as we go about living our real lives, we have reason to be joyful.
Living a real life is a joy-filled life.
Why?
Because we don’t have to be someone we’re not.
Because we don’t need to be comparing ourselves to anyone else.
Nor do we need to to be perfect.
There’s much freedom in living a real life, isn’t there? The more I walk this real-life road out, the more I find this to be true. And, the more I find the unrestraint to life a joy-filled life. Even if my circumstances are not joyful.
Today I found myself having to make an appointment with my doctor. That’s the last thing I wanted to do today. My to-do list was a mile long, and a trip to the doctor wasn’t on it. Not even near it. For a few moments I was overcome with frustration. But, I caught myself by thinking I’m living real and I’m living joy-filled. (Hence, the inspiration for this post.) So, even though my circumstances were not joyful, I fought to remain joy-filled.
We can live a joy-filled life even if our circumstances are not joyful.
How?
Not because of what happens around us or to us, but because of what’s within us.
You have not seen Christ, but still you love him. You cannot see him now, but you believe in him. So you are filled with a joy that cannot be explained, a joy full of glory. 1 Peter 1:8 NCV
Because we have a real and lasting hope, despite our circumstances.
I pray that God, the source of all hope, will infuse your lives with an abundance of joy and peace in the midst of your faith so that your hope will overflow through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 VOICE
And, because of Jesus.
Be full of joy in the Lord always. I will say again, be full of joy. Philippians 4:4 NCV
You and I have many reasons to live joy-filled!
Why are you living a joy-filled life today? What are your reasons? What helps you do so?
You know, even in the simple ways of living real we can find much joy… and live it out wherever life takes us. Keep spreading your real and joy-filled life, friend!
Much love,
Julie
