It’s a beautiful evening here in Storm Lake.
But we’re too tired to visit the downtown and partake in the festivities. We’re going to bed as soon as I’m done writing.
A total of 82 miles on the tandem today. Yes, 82. The hills were killers, but I’m proud of Bill and I… we biked up each and every one. I questioned that on one, but kept quoting Philippians 4:13 as we climbed.
“We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.”
And we made it.
The towns and their people were wonderful. Streets were often lined with town folk, as if they were watching a parade. I guess with 10,000 bicyclists going through your town, that would be quite the parade!
We didn’t stay long in any town, as we tried to keep moving. But we did find some rhubarb pie, lots of water, smoothies, snacks, and a spaghetti dinnet at St. Mary’s earlier tonight.
Tomorrow’s ride is a little shorter with 68.7 miles, ending in Fort Dodge. It’ll be another early morning, so it’s off to bed we go.
Blessings!
Julie
