Well, here we are.
We made it to Sioux City early this afternoon. I don’t think we’ve stopped sweating since we rolled into town.
Seriously.
Now that’s a lovely way to start out my first update, isn’t it? And the sobering fact is, that’s without biking at all! Oh my goodness. It’s been hot!
We visited the RAGBRAI Expo, got our bike ready for tomorrow, and ate at Famous Dave’s (yum!).
Sioux City treated us to one of my favorites in concert tonight… Huey Lewis & The News! He took us back a few years with some classics, and each one sounded just as great as they did back then! You can bet I was a dancin’.
And here’s our home for the next six nights.
The only thing we’re missing is the air conditioning. Still sweating… but our travel fan is making a difference. A tiny ant somehow got in here, and chose my leg as his snack. Let’s pray that doesn’t affect me the rest of the week!
Our morning will begin before sun up. Tearing down our humble abode, loading our gear, and beginning our trek eastward. Sounds like it’ll be the toughest day… lots of hills and 79 miles.
If you’re a praying person, we’d appreciate prayers for strength, safety, and joy. (And for these ant bites to disappear.)
I’ll update again soon! Thanks for journeying with us!
Blessings,
Julie
I will be praying for a safe and fun ride (and no more ants or problems from your current bites)! Have a great time!
Thanks, Laura. I saw your comment while we were riding, but wasn’t able to respond. I appreciated your prayers! We felt them, and they made all the difference!
