I’m screaming from the rooftops today,
“We made it!”
(Well, not literally, but in my mind I am!)
We made it to the end of our 31 day journey.
31 Days Of Loving God & Loving Others.
My heart is overflowing with love and thankfulness for you.
Thank you, friend, for journeying with me. It would have been a lonely adventure without you. It was good to walk hand-in-hand, conversing with you as we traveled. Your presence inspired me. Your words encouraged me. Thank you.
And goodness, we traveled far, and experienced much on our 31 day trek, didn’t we?! Oh, the memories we made! Feel free to return to the places we visited. I have already, and will continue to do so.
We grew together, we found encouragement in our days, and we rekindled the spark of hope that was buried under the yuck of life.
We lived out Matthew 22:36-40:
Did we live it out perfectly? This girl most certainly didn’t.
But loving God and loving others isn’t about doing it perfectly, and wrapping it all up with a pretty bow. It’s about being real. Having grace. Showing mercy. Granting understanding. Following God. Forgiving ourselves and others. Accepting ourselves and others. Seeing who we really are. And so much more.
I could write every day for the next year on this subject and still not cover it all.
Love God & love others as we love ourselves.
The choice is ours.
Each day we can choose to love.
When I’m in the stage between slumber and wakefulness, after my alarm goes off and before I climb out of bed, I ask God to help me love. To help me love Him. To help me love those whom I’ll encounter that day. To help me love me, in how He created me to be.
I’ve proven I can’t do any of this on my own.
I’ll be praying for you, too.
It really doesn’t end here, though, does it?? As we move forward from here, a new journey awaits us. I don’t know what we’ll each experience, but I know the One Who does. We can trust Him to be our guide.
Friend, let’s continue to walk hand-in-hand, as we encourage, share our stories, and spur one another on to love on this path.
And if the yuck gets deep, and buries our hope again, we’ll be here to help one another uncover it, clean it off, and make it shine brightly once more.
Thank you for being a part of my life, and a part of my journey.
Much love to you today!
Julie
This concludes our 31 Days Of Loving God & Loving Others series. It’s a bittersweet day, as we celebrate this journey, yet are a little sad to see it come to an end. All previous posts can be found here. God bless you, friend!
You go, girl! I’m proud of you. I love this post and I’m going to have to go back and catch up on the rest of the series. I’m catching up on reading some of my favorite blogs as it’s been a crazy past few weeks. You are so right, it’s not about doing it perfectly, but choosing to do it imperfectly. You inspire me, friend. Much love to you.
Abby, thank you so much. Your words of encouragement blessed me. I’m thankful I get to journey alongside of you in writing and in life. Such a gift! I hope to catch up on blogs I’ve missed lately, including yours. Yes, I agree… it has been a crazy past few weeks. Much love to you today too.
thanks. I hope it’s okay I posted your choose to love. It’s a needed message and I love the praying for loving hearts before getting out of bed. I always go through my gratitude before I arise. Thank you.
