Loving Mondays

by | Jul 3, 2012 | family, me, schedule, summer

I love Mondays…

You don’t hear many say that these days, do you?

As a work-from-home mom years ago, I loved Mondays too…it was a normal day at home with the kids. I worked as they played in my office. I smile as I think back to those days. We played more than I worked. 🙂 On Monday nights, I attended and eventually held my own Mary Kay Success Events when I became a sales director. Mondays were usually a highlight of my week in Mary Kay. 🙂 (I’m remembering just now how I used to talk to Mom on the phone on the way home each Monday from those events. It was a weekly thing for us. I looked forward to it…uninterrupted time with just her.) That also makes me smile.

When I became a leader in BSF (Bible Study Fellowship), I began attending Leaders’ Meetings which were and are still held on Monday mornings from September through May. It’s a beautiful couple hours of blessing for me.

I have Mondays off from the Mission, as the Mission is closed. I usually do some sort of work at home on these days, and I love that. I absolutely love working from home. 🙂 Some people don’t like it, but not me…I find it refreshing and uplifting.

I saw on facebook today a few people’s statuses, complaining a little that it was Monday. Then I saw my friend Marcia’s status…”I love Mondays!” (She has Mondays off too.) Marcia, I’m with ya’ girl. She and I texted each other a couple of times, but I’m not sure what she did with her day, but I’m sure she made it a beautiful day.

I did with mine as well…

–Breakfast out with brother Pat, Bennett & Reagan.

–Shopping (bought a new swimsuit for our upcoming vacation…a smaller size than last year! I’m a tad-bit excited about that…thanks for celebrating with me here!)

–Bill found a long-lasting spray for these pesky Japanese beetles…we sprayed it on our plants today and it seems to be working!

–I caught up on a few things I haven’t had the time to do.

–Spent some quality time with my family.

–Had a yummy and healthy dinner, compliments of my man 🙂

–Ended the day with a fresh pedicure and manicure.

Tomorrow will be an early morning…filled with my workout, watering flowers, checking on beetles, and heading to the Mission early. I might even treat myself to a Starbucks latte on the way in!

I guess, no matter what day of the week it is, we should make it a beautiful day, right? No matter if we have the day off or if we are working or whatever we are doing. I think I’ll make tomorrow a beautiful day too. 🙂

Oh, and I read a cute quote today which I loved…”Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle.” I feel a post coming on soon about that! 🙂

God bless you this Monday evening!

Can't seem to move ahead?
Head swimming with too much to do?
Feel like you're just going through the motions in life?

You may be distracted. 🥴

Don't let these, what I call The Big Five distractions, overtake you attention today.

➡️Which distraction plagues you the most?

Find more in my book, Right Now Matters, to overcome distraction and live your abundant life!

It happens to the best of us, especially us women. Our thoughts can not only distract us, but they can derail us. 🥴

But we don't have to let them.

Say this prayer the next time your thoughts distract you. There's nothing like inviting God in!

Listen to episode 206 of the Encouragement for Real Life Podcast for more.

Are you where your feet are today? Could you use a little help in staying present?

We continue on in our Summer of Abundance series on the Encouragement for Real Life Podcast today, and in episode 206, which dropped earlier this morning, we explore the fifth element of abundant life: Purposeful Presence. You might guess it's a subject I'm passionate about.

This episode is for you if you're tired of life passing you by and if you're ready to live more in the moment. In this snippet, I share Purposeful Presence in three categories, which is a great place to begin. Find the full 23-minute episode wherever you listen to podcasts or @julielefebure.

No matter what last week looked like… this one holds new beauty, new purpose, and new grace.

So water what matters.
Tend to your heart.
And trust that God is growing something good—even if you can’t see it yet. 🌸

Turns out…
surrendering control didn’t break anything.
(Except maybe my pride. And my planner. 😬)

But peace showed up.
Clarity followed.
And I finally had room to breathe.

Letting go isn’t losing—it’s living.

Surrender isn’t about pretending it’s easy—
It’s about trusting anyway.

You don’t have to understand it all.
Just release what was never yours to carry.
That’s where peace begins.

You weren’t meant to do this on your own.
You weren’t created to be your own source.

So if life feels heavy today, come back to the One who holds it all together—and holds you.

Let Him carry what you can’t.

Some women believe surrendering is stifling, or restrictive, or demeaning. Nothing could be more untrue.

When we surrender our will and lives to Jesus, it's then when we find true, abundant life.

What's one area of life you can surrender into His capable hands today?
