Each month I write a love note to my family.
It was something I felt led to do one month to remind my husband and children just how much they meant to me. I wanted to remind them how special they are, and how very much I loved them. I’ve been doing it ever since.
I add a collage of photos taken of us and the times we’ve spent together over the month.
Here is this month’s note:
To Bill, Alissa & Zach… the three I’m blessed to call my family,
It feels like October just began, and here it is, November already! Soon we’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving, then Christmas (then my birthday!), then another new year will begin. Time seems to be quickening its pace. Grandma Margaret always said as she grew older, time went faster. I would have to agree with her words.
But you three continue to help me stay young… at least young at heart! The good times, the laughs, the every day moments, the memories made when we’re together are priceless to me. I believe they are for you, too. I say it every month, but thank you for making your family a priority. Even when life gets crazy and sometimes feels out of hand, you still make spending time together important. Thank you.
Bill, we’re finding ourselves spending more and more time together, just you and I. It’s a good thing we like each other! 🙂 As the colder months are here, we’ll have to find another hobby to occupy us until biking weather returns. You are such a wonderful husband and father. Thank you for how you equip our children to be kind and responsible people. Thank you for the many ways you allow me to be me. Thank you for the surprising texts in the middle of the day. Thank you for being the one whom I can count on to make me smile. I love you with all my heart. You truly are my love of a lifetime.
Alissa, it’s been wonderful to have you “home” a few more times in October. I love, love, love spending time with you! I tell you every month in this note how proud of you I am, and I will again this month. Truly, you make me very proud! You are wise beyond your years, you are an independent thinker (Grandpa would be so proud!), nothing keeps you down, and you live your life to the fullest. Keep putting God first in your life, Honey. You already know your relationship with Him impacts every part of your life. He’ll continue to guide you every step of the way. I continue to pray for you daily, and it’s a blessing to do so. I love you, Hon!
Zach, you continue to make me very proud. (Are you tired of hearing me say that??) You’re doing so well in your classes this semester, and are truly starting off your college career in an amazing way! Great job, Buddy. Your hard work and determination now will pay off even greater in the future. Keep up the great work! You balance everything with ease… school, homework, work, and your many extra-curricular activities. Continue to spend time talking with God daily. Read His Word. Keep putting Him first. He’ll continue to point you in the direction He wants you to go. I pray for you daily, and I love watching God answer! I love you, Bud!
I look forward to the month ahead, and the many times we already have planned to be together. We have many more opportunities to make memories! And you can believe your mom will have her camera ready to go!
You three are the best. I love you so very much! Thank you for making my life so special!
Love,
Julie & Mom
