My life is one big adventure.
Some probably think I’m a #crazylady, and maybe they are correct in their assumption.
But over the past few years, I’ve considered this life I live (which really isn’t mine to begin with), an adventure with God.
When He called me to mission work six years ago, it didn’t make sense to me. I was living a comfortable life, full of worldly pleasures and ease. I was my own boss. I drove “free” cars, and wore skirted suits with heels, donning diamond rings on my fingers.
Heels and diamond rings don’t fit in well with mission work.
I gave all of that up when I realized God had a bigger plan for my life. I didn’t understand it, but I left what was comfortable to follow Him.
Five years into that work (actually a year ago today), God made it clear I was to leave. What a difference a year makes!
I was home for six months, and found my passion to write. I began pursuing my dream of writing, built two websites, and made the plans to write a book. I thought writing is what I’d do the rest of my life.
Until God called me into banking in June.
For six months I learned the ins and outs of banking, and even though I didn’t understand, I served Him there. And, I continued to write.
He recently, however, opened up another door for me to walk through as the program coordinator for the local Foster Grandparent Program, which I began yesterday. (Writing all of this makes me feel like that little silver ball in a pinball machine!)
Never did I think I’d be starting a new job a week before my 46th birthday. (Yes, 46!)
But here I am. And I continue to write.
Why am I sharing all of this with you?
Because this week I was reminded again that the best place to be is where God wants me. Even when I don’t understand it. Even when it’s not comfortable. Even in my mid-40’s. Even when others may think I’m crazy. Even when I’ll be walking through another transition.
I want to go where He wants me to go.
It’s the best place for you too.
Could it be God is calling you to something or somewhere you don’t understand? May your heart be encouraged today to follow His lead. And may this song below inspire you to go where He wants you to go, and do what He wants you to do.
I’m excited about this new opportunity, and I look forward to seeing what God is going to do through it and through me.
My life is most definitely an adventure! I’ll keep you posted.
What did you learn this week? I’d love to read about it below.
Bless you, friend!

It’s a joy to gather with Barbie and friends and link this post with them at The Weekend Brew.
You are on an adventure and it all sounds so exciting. I do agree, the best place to be is where God has me. Merry Christmas!
Amen, Barbie. Praying for you daily, friend. Merry Christmas to you!
