It’s Saturday morning…it feels good to be in my office this morning! I didn’t sleep well last night, but decided
to get up at my normal time anyway. When my clock by my bedside came to 5:00 a.m., I crawled out of bed, put my comfy robe and slippers on, made my coffee and came down to my office. I’ve gotten a lot of things done this morning that I wasn’t able to finish this week, but right now I’m staring to feel my lack of sleep from last night, especially in my eyes!
If you know me, you know that I enjoy my coffee! Especially in the mornings! I’m on my third cup with my French Vanilla creamer splashed in it. It tastes great this morning! 🙂
We have a busy Saturday ahead of us, packed full of all sorts of things! My plan is to get my workout in before 9 AM, shower and get my “game face” on for the day. I have a few errands to run in our town before leaving for the day. Zach has his first soccer tournament for the spring season today about 45 minutes away. His team plays at noon and 4:15. Ali has a band ensemble contest at a high school near the soccer complex at 3:15. (Thank the Lord that her mom played the flute through school and still has it, because Ali forgot hers at school yesterday! She’ll have to use mine!) After Zach’s 4:15 game, we’ll travel another 45 minutes to an hour to my nephew’s birthday party…Patrick turns 9 today!
I’m praying it doesn’t rain today. It’s forecasted to, but I’m praying it will hold off until after Zach’s 4:15 game. From experience, it is NO fun to be at a soccer game getting drenched! 🙂 We’re going prepared for everything…with rain gear, unbrellas, extra change of clothes, sunscreen, lawn chairs, blankets, and a cooler filled water, Gatorade, snacks and food. I’m realizing I’m a little out of out practice in getting all these things together…give me until next week’s game and I’ll have my system down! 🙂
Today is the first game without having Jill as my sideline buddy and “co-cheerleader.” I’m expecting some emotions to surface as I sit on the sidelines without her. Gosh, I miss her!
I realized this morning I can look at this day in two ways…I can look at it and think, “Gosh it is going to be a crazy busy day” and dread it, or I can look at it and think, “I am so thankful our children are blessed to be able to play soccer and play the flute today! I am also thankful for a fun evening that is planned with family later today at Patrick’s party! It is going to be a great day!” I am choosing the latter. I hope you are too, no matter what kind of day is ahead for you. Make it great!
On to my workout…and maybe ANOTHER cup of coffee! 🙂
