“Am I where God wants me to be? Am I doing what He wants me to do?”
I’ve been one to ask such questions, even recently. When feeling “unsettled,” or sensing there was something else I was to be doing. When God had called me from certain careers and into new ones. When facing decisions and an unknown journey. When where I thought He wanted me, made no logical sense whatsoever. Questions like these surfaced. Friend, could you be finding yourself in a similar place? Wondering. Questioning. Searching. Asking similar questions?
“God is this where you want me?”
The times I’ve asked such questions, in one way or another, He has always answered. When the answer was “no,” He moved me. When the answer was “yes,” He kept me put. I’ve learned He’ll show me. I don’t have to guess. (Whew! That takes the pressure off!) Trust me, He’ll do the same for you. Be patient as you ask. Be watchful, be listening, be alert. He’ll show you. Today, however, I’d like to encourage you with 1 Corinthians 7:17, from The Message translation:
Where you are right now is God’s place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there.
You are where He wants you. If that changes, He’ll let you know.
I’m praying that gives you a peace, a security, and a comfort today.
Rest in that truth, my friend!
Julie

Yes I indeed have been asking the Lord the same question as I sense Him leading me on an unknown path. Thanks for the encouragement.
Jodie, that’s exciting! He’ll show you, maybe one step at a time, but He’ll show you. I’d love to keep in touch to see where He’s leading you! Thank you so much for stopping by today and for sharing. Lifting you in prayer today! Blessings!
There are times when the Message translation is just fabulous and this is one of them. Wow. I need to place this verse in my office because It’s where I can struggle most in terms of questioning God if this is really where He wants me. Thanks, Julie. I needed this.
Blessings. xoxo
Beth, it seems God speaks to me the most through my writing. I needed this too… to just stop questioning and trust Him. Period. I might finally get it this time. Maybe?? I love this translation too. You are always so encouraging. Thanks, friend!
Julie, this post truly blesses me. So thankful you linked up at The Weekend Brew!
