Rediscovering Hope In The New Year

by | Dec 27, 2017 | Bring Your Own Bible and Beverage

2018. A New Year.

There’s nothing like a fresh start. A clean slate. A new beginning. And in it all, an infusion of hope.

Some of us experienced trials and tribulations in 2017, and we can’t wait for 2018 to arrive with the hopes of a fresh, renewed start. Some of us walked through beautiful times of joy and elation, and are basking in what 2017 brought our way. We hate for the year to come to a close because it was that good. Yet, probably most of us had a mixture of both this year, and we look forward in anticipation with what the new year will hold for us.

No matter where we fall in this, we could use some hope.

We could all use a little hope.

Hope that 2018 will be filled with health, happiness, and healing. Hope that this new year will be full of promise, potential, and peace. But, most importantly, that 2018 will be the year we draw closer to God and to the people around us, and to discover the people God made us to be.

We desire to be more than we are today.

On the evening of January 15, I’ll be gathering with some amazing women. We will withdraw for a couple of hours for some fun, some refreshments, and some time to celebrate who God made us to be. We’ll search His Word as we look for the hope only He can provide us in this new year. We’ll laugh, we’ll encourage one another, and we may even find a #oneword that will inspire us individually all year long. It’s going to be a powerful evening of encouragement, and if you’re local to me, I invite you to attend!

I can’t wait to start the new year with you.

Don't miss this if you could use a belly laugh today! 🤣

This is what happens when you invite on the podcast two friends who you've known you since 5th grade, Sheila and Karen. 🩵

Sheila says it perfectly,
Have you ever caught yourself thinking, “I’m not enough... I’ll never get it right... I’m failing at everything”?

You’re not alone—and those words aren’t the truth.

Join us for She Speaks Life, a special morning created for women just like you—women who are tired of the negative self-talk and ready to replace it with God’s truth. Together, we’ll learn to speak life over ourselves, find freedom in our identity in Christ, and encourage one another in a space full of grace.

Come as you are. Leave refreshed, encouraged, and reminded of the power your words hold.

Bring a friend. There’s a seat for you. 💛

In case no one’s told you lately:
You’re doing better than you think.

One step, one prayer, one small win at a time—
you’re moving forward.

God isn’t grading you.
He’s guiding you, and that's worth noticing and celebrating.

Somedays it's easy to put God on the back burner. Without God's Word renewing our minds, we can slip into defaulting to wordly and anxious thinking. In fact, that's always what our brains will do.

Today is a good day to renew our minds again. Let's open our Bibles and see what God has to say. It can literally change our lives and our perspectives.
