Happy Thanksgiving!
As I sit here, my stomach is way too full of Cracker Barrel food, and I have to say it was one of the best Thanksgiving meals I’ve had since Mom passed away four years ago. There’s nothing like turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie in my book (and NOTHING like Mom’s Thanksgiving meals). A cup of coffee is beside me, topped off with Peppermint Mocha creamer…one of my favorites.
We just watched the Patriots beat the Lions…I was pulling for the Lions. Now the Cowboys and Saints are about to begin. I have become quite interested in professional football this year, thanks to my son, Zach. I’m pulling for the Saints…we’ll soon see how this one shakes out.
Bill, Ali, Zach and I are spending Thanksgiving with my younger brother, Pat, and his family. We began this tradition last year when we went to St. Louis for Thanksgiving weekend. I love this new tradition, and I would love for all my brothers and I, and our families and to spend the whole weekend together in the future!
Pat’s wife Stacie, my daughter Ali, and I plan to begin our shopping adventure tonight at 10:30…this is something new for us…and it will be an adventure, I’m sure. Coffee and hot chocolate in hand, heading out in 10 degree windchills sounds like an adventure! Ali is sure pumped, and great memories made will be eminent! Who knows if we’ll find any deals, but the time together will be priceless!
I am so very thankful for so many things today…my eternal security through Jesus Christ, my freedom in this country, God’s Word, my family and my extended family, my pastor, Rev. Barb Furman, my wonderful close friends, my health, God’s provision for my life, and for time away to reflect, refresh and re-energize…and so much more.
I pray you are cherishing the things you’re thankful for on this Thanksgiving. May God reveal Himself to you in a special way on this special day! Happy Thanksgiving!
