Is today one of those days you feel weak? Maybe you’re tired, weary and worn out. Or you’re overwhelmed, stressed, and anxious.
You wonder how much more you can take.
Everyone else in this life seems to be trudging right along. But, you?? You wonder how you’re going to keep your head above the rising waters.
Friend, you’re not alone in this struggle.
Life can be tough. It can wear us down. The every day burdens, stresses, and worries can about take us under. Some days we just hope we can make it through alive.
And so far, we have. But it hasn’t been easy.
May I encourage you, friend, even on these kinds of days, you are stronger than you think you are.
Yes, you are.
Take a look:
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.Isaiah 40:29-31
And this might be the one I cling to most often when I’m worn down:
I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13
Did you notice what’s key in these verses? We aren’t strong in our own strength (we’ve already proven that, right??), but strong in God’s strength.
He is the key!
On these kinds of days, it’s critical to stop right where we’re at and lean into God. Ask Him for His strength. Ask Him to be strong within you. Not necessarily for your sake, but for His. He’s ready to renew your strength, but He’s waiting for you to ask.
Then watch what He does through you.
And tomorrow? Let’s start the day leaning into Him, asking for His strength. Even before rising from bed. Don’t go one minute without His all-encompassing power.
Oh, what a difference it makes!
I’d love to pray with you today:
Father God, we praise your holy name. You are mighty and strong, and we thank you for how you draw us to you, especially when we are weak. Father, today for your son/daughter who is reading this, I pray you would meet him/her right where he/she is at. Renew his/her strength. Equip each one of us by the power of your Holy Spirit to soar on wings like eagles, to run and not grow weary, to walk and not be faint. All to your glory. In Jesus’ mighty name, we ask these things. Amen.
You are strong, my friend. In Him, you are strong!
Bless you!
Julie
This is Day 13 of 31 Days #CelebratingWhoYouAre. May you find your strength in Him on this Tuesday, and may you share this truth with another who is weary and worn out. Thanks for spending a few minutes of your day with me! Linking up with Holly at #TestimonyTuesday and Kelly at #RaRaLinkup.
What a good word, Julie!
I woke up exhausted today after doing much ministry and work yesterday! Thank you for the reminder that we can He renews our strength!
Hope you have a blessed day~
Melanie
Hi Melanie! I’m thankful we don’t have to go on our own strength in our days. We have His! Hoping you are renewed and refreshed as the week goes on. Bless you and thank you for stopping in!
Lovely, encouraging post, Julie. We’re braver and stronger than we think. I love that. Need to hear that today when I’m not feeling so fantastic. (Not a bad day, just not a great day! God can turn it around!)
Yes, Betsy! God can turn it around. Hoping that’s exactly what happened in your day! Thank you for being here friend. Bless you this week!
In Him, we ARE strong. So true, Julie. (Love your graphic, by the way.) Visiting today via #raralinkup.
Thanks, Kristi! Praying your week is blessed!!
Amen! God has proven how faithful he is over and over again in my life. I needed this infusion today to remind me that while I can’t get everything on my to-do list done, God can prioritize my list and let me forget the rest.
Your words are good reminders to me, Anita. Thank you! I’m thankful He continues to be faithful, even when I’m not. Bless you, my friend.
It’s so easy to think I’m not strong. But I love the promises in that Philippians verse.
I love them too, Tara! Hoping your #write31days series is going well for you. We’re almost half-way there!
Julie, through every struggle I need to be reminded that, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” That’s a good word every day of the week.
Blessings,
Christy
Amen, Christy. I love that scripture. It’s one I should put on my bathroom mirror to be encouraged by each morning. Thanks so much for being here. Have a blessed week!
