Walking into a room where you know no one.
Walking through week thirteen of no employment.
Watching the stripe on the pregnancy test turn pink.
Watching the number on the scale remain the same, even though you’re diligently trying to make it decrease.
Waiting for the test results from your doctor.
Waiting for God’s perfect timing.
Wondering how much more you can take.
Wondering what’s the next step on your journey.
You may not feel very brave in moments like these.
You may doubt. You may be fearful. You may feel like running away. You have no control in any of it, and it’s hard and uncomfortable. And you don’t like it. Not one bit.
You feel anything but brave.
Please allow me to share something with you.
You are braver than you think you are.
How do I know??
Because I get it… each of us waver in our bravery. We all have moments when brave escapes us. Each of us have one or two (or more) specific areas or things in life that make our knees wobble. When we are stretched, our brave gets stretched. There are days when we’re tired of fighting to be brave, and quite honestly, we wouldn’t mind a break. We all struggle with bravery sometimes. Any we end up thinking we aren’t brave at all.
But, the good news is, if you and I have God in our lives, bravery is a by-product of this relationship.
So don’t be afraid. I am here, with you; don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, help you. I am here with My right hand to make right and to hold you up. Isaiah 41:10 Voice
I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve recited this verse when I was shaken and afraid. And when I didn’t feel so brave.
I’m not so brave on my own, but when I remind myself Whose brave is with me, well, that’s a entirely different story. God’s brave is available for each one of us to rely on, and when we do, there’s no shortage of it.
As I write this, I’m personally walking through a time of brave. A season of unknown. Doubt, lack of confidence, fear, and panic like to seep in the cracks of this life and cause my brave to wobble. But I continue to cling to what God’s Word says. May these encourage you as well:
This is My command: be strong and courageous. Never be afraid or discouraged because I am your God, the Eternal One, and I will remain with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9 Voice
Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Psalm 27:14 NLT
Be brave. Be strong. Don’t give up. Expect God to get here soon. MSG
Yes, you are brave.
You have nothing to fear. God is with you. Allow His brave to become yours. And, let’s be brave together.
Much love,
Julie
It’s Day 26 of 31 Days #CelebratingWhoYouAre. Be brave today my friend. Thank you for hanging out with me a few minutes today! (Linking this post with Crystal for #IntentionalTuesday.)
Yes let’s be brave together. My brave waivers daily but I’m so thankful that God gives me the strength to be brave.
I imagine us hooking arms and boldly moving forward in bravery together. So thankful for your presence in my life!
Such an encouraging word! It is always a blessing to be reminded that we can be brave and that God is with us! Thank you for this truth Julie! #IntentionalTuesday
Thank you, Rhiannon! Glad you stopped by. So thankful God is always with us, and our brave isn’t ours. Blessings to you!
Celebrating God’s strength in us, our Source of bravery. Love this, Julie: “When we are stretched, our brave gets stretched.” Then our faith gets stretched … our faith in our faithful Father. Thank you, Julie, for sharing your heart at #IntentionalTuesday on Intentionally Pursuing. : )
