Every now and then I share something I consider one of my favorites. I was reminded last night of my favorite pasta sauce as I made lasagna for my family…
The first time I had ever tried this sauce was in Columbus, Ohio visiting family. I had never tasted anything like it! It was even more special to me when I found out this sauce came from our cousins…they it themselves!
At our 2006 family reunion, I remember having a conversation with our cousin about his wonderful sauce and the other sauces he makes. I told him how I wished we could get it in our area, as it seemed to be just available in the Columbus area.
My mom passed away December of that year. Her funeral was December 20th. I remember pulling into our driveway that evening after her funeral and seeing a white box on our doorstep. I was weary, exhausted and extremely grief stricken. It was the most difficult day I had ever experienced, saying goodbye to her. We pulled into the garage, and Bill brought in the package. We were pleasantly surprised to find inside six pasta sauces from our family in Columbus!
Bill made pasta for us that night and I can’t say enough how much joy that brought to us, especially to me, on such a difficult day. I don’t think they knew what a gift that was to us! I had the opportunity to share it with them this year at our family reunion! What a blessing!
This incredible sauce is from Carfagna’s Italian Market. I also love their Vodka Sauce…very cheesy & rich. If you’d like to try them yourselves, you won’t be disappointed. Visit www.carfagnas.com to see more and/or to place an order. I think you’ll enjoy them too!!! (And if you try them, let me know what you think!!)
