It was one year ago yesterday that our friend Steve passed away from complications of five tumors in his brain. I thought of him throughout my day yesterday, and I prayed for his children and his family. I imagine yesterday was a difficult day for them.

Steve was a good man and a good friend. Yes, he had his struggles, but don’t we all seem to struggle with something? His struggles made him no less of a good man and friend, but maybe even a better one.
Steve had such an infectious laugh. I would end up laughing more at his laugh than at what we were laughing at. 🙂 He had such a way of caring about others, and did so until the Lord took him home. He genuinely loved our family, especially Ali and Zach.
We all learned much from Steve…how to live life and how to not live it, how to be a friend, how to work through, with the Lord’s strength, an addiction, and how to keep a positive outlook on life. I will never forget my dear friend Steve, and I’m so thankful God allowed our paths to cross!
I look forward to the day I get to see him again, as he had Jesus secure in his heart, and knew where he’d be going once his life on earth was over. That gives me hope and encouragement, and makes me want to make sure other people in my life are as secure as he was in eternity.
