7 Bible Verses To Encourage Your Heart

by | Apr 12, 2016 | Encouragement

Finding yourself a bit discouraged today?

Has life, full of twists and turns, got your down?

Is your path full of detours, and stops, and roadblocks?

Are your circumstances beyond your control?

Is what you see transpiring around the world causing you to feel unsettled and disheartened?

Friend, I’m sorry you’re discouraged. May it help you to know you’re not alone.

Many understand discouragement, including me.

Discouragement happens to us all, and I find it can be subtle and sneaky. It can appear when we least expect it, and it can knock the wind right our of our sails.

You probably know what I’m writing. What do you do in times like these to lift your spirits and encourage your heart?

When I get discouraged, I cling to a few Bible verses that I purposely embedded in my mind. They help me so, and I pray they encourage your heart today, too.

7 Bible Verses to Encourage Your Heart

7 Bible Verses To Encourage Your Heart

Isaiah 41:10

So don’t be afraid. I am here, with you; don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, help you. I am here with My right hand to make right and to hold you up. (The Voice)

John 14:27

I give you peace, the kind of peace that only I can give. It isn’t like the peace that this world can give. So don’t be worried or afraid. (CEV)

Psalm 46:1

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. (NLT)

1 Peter 5:7

Since God cares for you, let Him carry all your burdens and worries. (The VOICE)

Matthew 19:26

Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” (NLT)

Romans 8:31

What should we say then? Since God is on our side, who can be against us? (NIRV)

Joshua 1:9

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (NIV)

Do you have a favorite verse you turn to? Feel free to add to this list below, or share what you do to encourage your heart during discouraging times.

Praying God strengthens you and blesses you with His presence today.

Blessings,

Julie

For the longest time, I thought God was waiting for me to have it all together before He could use me. But then I realized… He’s never asked for my perfection—just my obedience. If He can use the broken, the unsure, and the unqualified in the Bible, He can use me (and you) too.

If you’ve ever felt ‘not ready enough’ for what God is calling you to, this is your reminder: He equips those He calls. 💛

As the day winds down, no matter how the day played out, we who choose to live abundant lives understand it matters how we end the day.

Ending it praising, thanking, and trusting God encourages our hearts, blesses Him, and sets the tone for tomorrow.

Even on the hardest days, choosing to praise, thank, and trust God shifts our focus from what went wrong to who He is. An abundant life isn’t about perfect days—it’s about a heart anchored in Him.

Instead of striving and overthinking, let’s rest in God’s care today, grow in His timing, and bloom right where He’s planted us.

“Consider how the wildflowers grow. They do not labor or spin… Yet not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.” — Luke 12:27 NIV
