Ali is home sick today. So, I’m home too. The mom in me always tells me to stay home with our children when either of them are sick. Yes, they are old enough to care for themselves, but when they aren’t feeling well, I feel I’m supposed to make myself available to care for them…no matter what anyone else says. I remember, way back when, when I was 16 years old, I wanted my mom home with me when I didn’t feel well. So, that’s what I’m doing today…caring for my baby girl (ok, she’s almost 17 years old, but she’s still my baby).
It’s no wonder she’s not feeling well today. We had a full weekend, plus a trip to the urgent care facility yesterday morning due to her sore throat. Thankfully the strep test was negative.
Saturday Ali was busy with show choir, and a performance late in the afternoon. She loves show choir and does a great job! Yesterday (after the urgent care trip) she had a volleyball tournament about 45 minutes away. If you’ve read any of my posts about her and volleyball this fall, you know she loves volleyball too. Show choir and volleyball…two of her most favorite things.
The concert Saturday was great! The group Ali performs in did very well. And her volleyball team played super yesterday! They were undefeated throughout the morning, and ended up taking 3rd place out of eight teams! Of course this mom snapped pictures of both events (below)! 🙂
We finished our weekend last evening at my brother Pat’s to watch the Superbowl. Our team, the Colts, didn’t make it this year, so our family was neutral on who should win. 🙂 Congrats Packer fans!
I pray Ali feels better soon, as we have another full week and weekend ahead…more show choir and more volleyball! ‘Tis the season! 🙂
