God Cares About What We Care About

by | Dec 12, 2015 | Love God

Oh, my word.

Friend, I have had some stressful moments in the last 48 hours.

Allow me to clear the path here. Nothing life threatening has happened. Nothing earth shattering. Nothing that’s going to matter in the big scheme of things.

My stressful moments were nothing compared to what some of my friends and their families are experiencing.

But in my little world here, being a blogger and writer, when my site has issues, I have issues.

When widgets, plugins, comments, images, and any other necessary inner-workings of my website has problems, I have problems.

And, when my site goes down, I quickly follow it. (As what happened today.)

I get this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, and tears begin to well up in my eyes. I’ll be the first to say it’s awful.

Yes, I allow it to be awful.

I entertain thoughts of losing years of documented memories, written lessons, precious thoughts from and interaction with others, not being available for that one who is looking for encouragement in that brief second, etc. I allow it to almost cripple me, even with everything backed up.

I’ve been on live chat with Bluehost (my hosting provider) four times in these 48 hours. Finally, I think we’re fixed. And I can breathe again.

So, I apologize if you’ve been here in the last few days and things didn’t seem quite right. I’ve heard from many the inability to comment. (No wonder I had zero comments in my Five Minute Friday post… I was beginning to get a complex!)

I’ll wait awhile before again trying to update to WordPress 4.4.

As silly as it may sound to some, when I prayed for God to heal my website today (after stressing for a couple hours), a calming peace came over me. (Surprise, surprise.)

And I was reminded,

God cares about what we care about.

God cares about what we care aboutGod cares about the big stuff and the little stuff in our lives. Sure, I imagine He had more important matters to attend to than healing my little site, but nonetheless, He still desired for me to come to Him with my concern.

Even though it was a little thing in the big scheme of things, it was huge to me.

When I gave Him my cares, He gave me His peace.

Funny how that works. God cares about every part, every detail of our lives.

Since God cares for you, let Him carry all your burdens and worries. 1 Peter 5:7 (Voice)

Friend, what concern is on your heart today? What is weighing heavy? What worries fill your mind? What stresses consume you? Don’t do like what I did today… don’t wallow in that stress any longer than you have to. Quickly take your cares and concerns to the One Who can handle them… and to the One Who wants to.

So do not consume yourselves with questions: What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear? Outsiders make themselves frantic over such questions; they don’t realize that your heavenly Father knows exactly what you need. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then all these things will be given to you too. Matthew 6:31-33 (Voice)

I learned much about myself today, and it wasn’t all good. I’m sure glad God doesn’t give up on me!

I pray you and I seek God and His righteousness first in everything we do.

God cares. I’m thankful He does.

Blessings,

Julie

P.S. If you see anything strange or out of place on my site, I would appreciate you letting me know.
