Do you ever ponder if you hadn’t met a certain person in your life, how completely different your life would be?
You know… a particular someone who has impacted you in some way? Or one who pointed you in the right direction at a crossroads in your life? Or that mentor-type person who helped you believe in yourself? Or maybe it was a group of co-workers who taught you a skill or trade which you continue to use today?
That someone is a difference maker.
My husband is one of mine. Yet, I look back on my life, and I see many who have come in and gone out, and many who have stayed, who have impacted me and my journey.
How different my life would be if our paths hadn’t crossed.
I’m one who believes these people didn’t come into my life by accident, but God brought each one at a specific time for a specific purpose. It’s good to pause and ponder these God-ordained encounters.
I also believe God is using you in the same way.
God has crossed your path with another in whom you have (or have had) a significant impact. You are making a difference in his or her life. It’s quite possible you aren’t even aware of the difference you are making.
You are a difference maker.
Your story is encouraging another.
Your experience is teaching another.
Your words are uplifting another.
Your shine is brightening another’s day.
Your grace is aiding another to forgive.
Your strength is helping another get through one more day.
Your friendship is a gift to another.
Your love is transforming another’s heart.
Your talents and gifts are blessing another.
Your bravery is spurring another on.
Your wisdom is helping another understand.
Your transparency is inspiring another to believe she’s not alone.
Yes, you are a difference maker in the lives of others.
So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 MSG
You don’t do it to get noticed or draw attention to yourself, this is just who you are. This is who you were meant to be, and what you were meant to do.
God planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always wanted us to live. That’s why he sent Christ to make us what we are. Ephesians 2:10 CEV
Be encouraged, friend. Keep making that difference. Keep impacting the lives around you. Continue to allow God to work through you in being His hands, His feet, His mouth, His influence. I can imagine the blessing you receive in being a difference maker, but an even greater reward is coming.
The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped. Proverbs 11:25
“And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.” Matthew 10:42 NLT
Continue to be a difference maker.
Who could you and I bless today? Who has God placed on our paths? And since we recalled those who have made a difference in our lives, today would be a good day to tell them so.
I’m cheering you on, and praying for you today!
Much love,
Julie
Wow. Can you believe it?! It’s Day 31 of 31 Days #CelebratingWhoYouAre. Our very last day in this month-long series. If you misssed any of the previous posts, you can find them here. You are making a difference my friend. Thank you for making a difference in my life! I appreciate you. Thank you for joining me on this journey. May we continue to spur each other on in making a difference! (Linking this post with Deb for Faith ‘n Friends and Barbie for Weekend Whispers.)
This is great. I often think how others impact or have impacted me and my life, but rarely (outside of my family) do I think intentionally of how I may be an influence to others. When I do, it is usually a thought of it being fairly minor, but to them, it may be more. Thank you for the positive reminder.
Hi Kim! Thank you for being here and celebrating with me! Each time you comment here, you encourage me. You are definitely a difference maker. Thank you! You’re a blessing, and I appreciate you. Have a wonderful weekend!
You made it! You are a difference maker too friend! Makes me think of the song “Make a Difference” by Rachel Kurtz. Rachel is one of my faves.
Hey, friend! You are such an encourager in my life, and a difference maker! Thank you. I’ll be stopping over to your space soon to congratulate you on finishing strong! I’ll check that song out… not sure I know it. Enjoy the feeling of accomplishment! Hugs to you.
My biggest prayer is that I would make a difference in the life of others. I am thankful that God uses me to impart hope and encouragement to others. Thank YOU for making a difference in my life and the life of others as well.
Barbie, you are an encourager, and most certainly a difference maker. I’m blessed to have met you through our blogs. Keep writing and sharing! Thank for hosting us each weekend for Weekend Whispers. Bless you, friend!
Thank you for these beautiful encouraging words! Some days, it’s easy to fall into the pit of “I don’t make a difference, I just exist.” I needed this reminder, my friend!
I needed the reminder too, Anita. Hope you are doing well! Thanks for stopping by for a few minutes. It’s always a gift to see your beautiful smile here!
