Five minutes of writing, every Friday. It’s something I enjoy each week with some incredible friends and writers. It’s hard for me to believe I didn’t know a one of them last year at this time. Yet now, I can’t imagine my Thursday evenings without this community of lovelies. They encourage this heart of mine so!
Five Minute Friday, when many take the “challenge” to write for five minutes. Not much planning involved. No concern for the things we normally fuss about… punctuation, grammar, spelling. It’s just pure, honest writing. We gather to share at Kate Motaung’s place, and encourage each other over there. It’s something beautiful. And we’d love for you to join us. Either on your blog, or in the comments below my post. I’d love to read your Five Minutes!
Here goes!
This week’s word:
–DEAR–
Go.
Nothing melts my heart more than when my husband addresses me by the name he’s used since we were first married. He calls me Dear.
“Hey Dear. How’s it going?” “Dear, How was your day?”
A day doesn’t go by that he doesn’t use this expression of love for me. It makes me smile.
You’re here today, and that makes me smile, too. It means the world to me that you’ve chosen to spend a few minutes of your day hanging out here. You are dear to my heart, and I thank you for “doing life” with me. It’s a joy to journey alongside of you.
I’m reminded of Apostle Paul as I write this. He had friends in his life that were dear to him too, and he addressed them in the same way my husband does me. May God’s Words through Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:58 encourage each one of us, as friends, and as co-laborers in Christ.
With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort. 1 Corinthians 15:58 The Message
You are dear to Jesus, too. And anything you do in His name, isn’t a waste of time. Keep doing what you are doing, friend!
Stop.
God bless you, especially today! You are dearly loved.
Julie
Yes, we are dear to His heart! And I love the verse you shared. Nothing is wasted in the hands of our Redeemer.
So blessed to be making new DEAR friends with #fmfparty!
Hi Asheritah! Yes, I love the blessing of new DEAR friends with #fmfparty. Such a gift! Thanks for stopping in and sharing. Wishing you a blessed weekend!
My Dear Friend! I had to giggle when I saw that we both wrote about Paul…and used the same verse for our FMF prompt this week :). Here’s a virtual high-five to friends that think alike even though they’ve never met in person!
Agreed, Anita! I chuckled too! I hope to change that and meet some day in person. What a blessing that will be to me! Have a wonderful day, friend. You’re a blessing!
Amen! Such sweetness here, Julie!
Thank you, Karrilee! Have a beautiful day!
We’ve been linkup neighbors often, Julie! Always love reading your words.
I especially appreciate the scripture you chose… my heart so needed to be reminded that nothing is a waste of time or effort when God has prompted me. It can be so easy to feel like I’m working without truly affecting change.
Thank you!
Hi Liz! Yes! I love reading your words too. I’ll head over to your place today. I’m with you… it can easily feel like what we’re doing for Him doesn’t really matter at all. It does! Thanks for being here! Blessings!
Julie, you are dearly loved too!!
Thanks, friend! Sometimes we just need to know that truth. So glad you stopped over! Hugs to you.
I for one LOVED spending time here with you this evening! I do not recall ever reading the passage that you shared…at least not in this context. What a picture I have in my mind as being one of His dear, dear (twice) Children. For some reason, that just sinks in deep with me tonight. I needed this! Thank you FMF friend!
I caught that too, Bethany… the dear, dear portion of this scripture. It blessed me as well. Glad you came over and shared! It’s a joy to have you here. I’ll bop on over to your place too. Have a wonderful Friday!
Julie,
I popped over through the 5 min friday post. Way to go girl. 5 minutes and we are left with such encouragement. Oh how I loved this verse: 1 Corinthians 15:58 The Message. I just sent it to a friend who needed these exact words. Don’t you love the ripple effect of our message. Praise God. Thank you Julie, thank you.
Hi Kelly! Yes, praise God. I love it when He does stuff like that, and when we get to see Him at work. Glad you stopped over! I’ll pop on over to your place too. May your day and weekend be blessed!
So loved seeing the same verse I used in my post! A beautiful reminder that we are each dear to Him. Grateful I stopped here this morning!
I love that, Joanne! I’ll stop over to your place too. Have a beautiful Friday!
I love that verse from the Message. And your words are so very encouraging… as usual. Beautiful post!
Hi Karen! Thank you. It’s always a joy to have you here. God bless you!
It’s such a blessing to be “doing life” with you here. To read your words and hear how God is working in you…it makes me smile, friend! Have a wonderful weekend!! 😀
Jen, YOU make me smile too. We seriously need to meet one of these days! Thanks for being here. You bless me.
Oh Julie – You are dear to me as well! 🙂 I am so glad you shared that verse. I’m in the midst of collecting scripture that capture my numerous thoughts for something & this fits perfectly. YES! I love it when God does that. Have a great weekend, friend.
I’m thrilled this verse fits what you’re looking for, Jolene! It’s such a joy to see your beautiful face here. May you have a great weekend as well. Much love to you!
Beautiful verse, Julie! I don’t believe I’ve ever read it in that particular translation. Oh, how we need to hear those words today and every day! Thank you!
I may need them the most, Ellen! Blessings to you this day.
What a great post Julie…it is great having a group of Christian bloggers encouraging each other each week! Now if I could just remember to get to the #fmfparty on time! 🙂 I also love the verse 1 Corinthians 15:58. It is a great reminder that even in the small things we do…God notices!
Yes, Verona, I love this community! It’s so encouraging and uplifting. I appreciate all who participate in #fmfparty. Thank you for stopping in and sharing, and praying your week is going well!
