In this month’s guest episode I sit down with friend and fellow Iowan, Natalie Ogbourne. I’ve gotten to know Natalie fairly well over the last three and a half years as we gather online every Monday morning through a prayer group. Natalie’s love for God’s creation and for Yellowstone National Park have always inspired and intrigued me. She just wrote an amazing book about what God has taught her through her adventures at Yellowstone, and it launched just last week. We discuss everything from her book, to lessons God has taught her, to how she lives as a Right-Now Woman. I believe you’ll find hope and encouragement in Natalie’s words, and you may find you have a desire to take a trip to Yellowstone some day! Let’s get into this episode to hear from Natalie and remain encouraged.
For Natalie Ogbourne, Yellowstone is her Happy Place.
Have you ever visited Yellowstone National Park? I haven’t but I desire to one of these days. Yes, it’s my friend, Natalie Ogbourne’s happy place, and being her friend, I’ve learned much about it through her love for it.
My conversation with her–which I share in this episode–helped me think beyond my everyday life here in Iowa, and what she shared regarding the lessons God has taught her while out on the trail, remind me how important it is for me to get outside and experience God through His creation. I believe Natalie’s words will inspire you as well.

She shares some of her stories in her newly released book, Waking Up in the Wilderness. Even if you don’t think you’ll ever travel to Yellowstone National Park, you’ll be delighted to read Natalie’s book, written as a memoir. God will meet you through the pages and will inspire you through her experiences. I can’t say enough about this book! It’s so well written and Natalie kept my attention through every page.
You’ll find Natalie and her book at the links in the show notes, and I encourage you to give her a follow and check out her book, Waking Up in the Wilderness.
I can’t help but think, what kind of wilderness are we waking up in these days?
No matter what we wake up to each day or how God wakes us up to His goodness and graciousness, He is always guiding us on this path of life. I’m grateful for this, aren’t you? I pray you know He is with you today, friend. As always, I’m cheering you on in this adventure of life. Thanks for tuning in. As Natalie often says, “Happy Trails!” God bless you!

Natalie Ogbourne is known to some as a “girl who went to Yellowstone and never really came back.” A former park employee and longtime return visitor, she’s been helping Yellowstone visitors plan their time in the park since 1987. She’s an outdoor adventurer and lifelong Iowa resident with an irrational fear of cows. Natalie and her husband enjoy heading into wildernesses of all kinds together and with their grown kids.
