Yesterday was Zach’s 16th birthday (officially at 10:28pm). He was a 9 lb. 5 oz. and 22-1/2 inches long bundle of joy! Now he has surpassed me in height and is more muscular than most 16 year olds! The name Zachary means “the Lord remembers.” We couldn’t have found a more fitting name. His middle name was named after his dad and his grandpa.
I seriously have to ask how did we get here?
Sixteen years have passed in front of my eyes of watching this boy grow into a fine young man! I can’t say enough how proud I am to be his mama!
We had his family birthday party on Sunday and most of our family was able to be here to celebrate! Yesterday he had practice after school for three hours, so that took most of the night. He was able to open his presents from us in the morning and have dinner with us when he arrived home last night. Let me say, after opening his gifts, he’s going to be one finely dressed guy! Express clothing store was good to us!
Zach is such a caring and kind young man. I continually am impressed with how polite he is to others and how he puts others’ feelings first. God has blessed him with many gifts and talents…soccer, singing, dancing (in show choir), academics to name just a handful. His sportsmanship, his attitude and his teamwork stands out positively in whatever he does.
Zach has been driving with his school permit since last summer. He’s had lots of experience on the road! Tomorrow he and Bill will go get his driving license, and I pray he continues to make good choices and that God protects him! Those vehicles our kids drive are certainly covered in prayer!
I’m blessed to have such a wonderful son! And I’m blessed to be his mom!
Happy Birthday again, Buddy! “I love you to the moon and back!”
