7 Helpful Bible Verses To Encourage A Weary Heart

by | Mar 11, 2021 | Encouragement, Love God

Is today a day you could use some encouragement or inspiration? Is your heart troubled or your circumstances weighing you down? Or are you feeling tired, worn out, or just plain weary? Friend, you’re not alone. I believe you’re in good company. When I get to feeling worn out and weary, I pause to look to God’s Word for strength, encouragement, and hope. So, today I’m sharing some of my favorite Bible verses that I believe will encourage any weary heart today, especially yours and mine.

7 Helpful Bible Verses To Encourage A Weary Heart

1. John 16:33

I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world. (MSG)

2. James 1:2-4

Don’t run from tests and hardships, brothers and sisters. As difficult as they are, you will ultimately find joy in them; if you embrace them, your faith will blossom under pressure and teach you true patience as you endure. And true patience brought on by endurance will equip you to complete the long journey and cross the finish line—mature, complete, and wanting nothing. (VOICE)

3. Jeremiah 29:11

I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. (MSG)

4. Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. (NIV)

5. Isaiah 40:31

but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (NIV)

6. Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (NIV)

7. Romans 8:28

We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan. (VOICE)

Do you have a verse you remember when your heart becomes weary? Do you have a favorite you’d be willing to share in the comments below? I’d love to add them to my list.

God is good at reviving a heart that’s weary.

How do I know? Because He continues to revive mine… over and over again. Just when I need it. Sure, He can use many things to breathe life back into my weary heart, but interestingly, nothing does it like His very words.

If your heart is weary today, I invite you to take a few moments to read the above Bible verses. Write one down or jot it in your notes on your phone. Read it out loud. Allow yourself to hear it in your own voice. Let it in and allow it to bless you. As a result, feel the peace that begins lighten the weariness.

I am praying for you today. May God encourage you, strengthen you, and empower you with His love, His peace, and His presence. May He breathe life into your weary heart. He sees you and He cares, my friend. Allow Him to revive you in the ways only He can.

Much love to you!

    Dear Julie,
Thank you for directing our eyes and hearts to our Father! He is truly the “God of all comfort”!
I find the following passage a comfort and guide in my walk with the Lord Jesus.
    Proverbs 3:5,6
Trust I n the LORD with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths

There's a group of special women out there who, for one reason or another, show up to church alone.

At a former church, an entire row was filled with us women who came without spouses or families, and we created quite a bond. We knew we needed it--and each other.

I get it--it's not so easy to do somedays, walking in alone, sitting by oneself, but every time, God meets me there.

If you went to church by yourself or know someone who did today, I see you. I'm with you. I am praying for you. Keep showing up. Your presence matters more than you know.

Sometimes the most sacred moments don’t look polished. Sometimes they include a book, a lap full of grandsons, and yes—even a finger in a nose.😉

But this? This is legacy.
This is love.
This is what matters right now.🩷

You don’t have to have it all together to make a difference.
Your presence is enough. Your faithfulness is forming something eternal.🌸

Keep showing up, even when life feels messy. God is using it all. 🙌
