Remember This Truth: God Is With You Today

by | Jul 30, 2020 | #open2020, Love God

I’ve mentioned before I pray as I walk down our dusty gravel road each morning. As I lift my eyes to the heavens and take in the beauty of the early morning sky, I can’t help but feel God’s presence surrounding me. It’s then the truth of “God is with you” becomes so very real to me. Yes, God is with me, and I know He hears my simple prayers. Thank you, God.

As the day goes on, however, I get distracted. I lose the perspective of the beautiful morning sky and the feeling of God’s presence. I get buried in my work, sometimes forgetting God is with me at my desk, just as much as He’s with me on my gravel road walks. Some days I catch myself struggling with all sorts of feelings as I sink deep into whatever I’m working on. But, when I come up for air and remind myself that God is with me, a peace washes over me and my mind returns to the expanse of the morning sky.

Remember this truth: God is with you today.

Remembering God is with me makes all the difference in my day.

Yes, there’s not a moment that God isn’t with me. And there’s not a moment that He isn’t with you. But, don’t take my word for it. Take God’s:

This is My command: be strong and courageous. Never be afraid or discouraged because I am your God, the Eternal One, and I will remain with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9 VOICE

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10 NIV

The Lord your God is with you; the mighty One will save you. He will rejoice over you. You will rest in his love; he will sing and be joyful about you.”

Zephaniah 3:17 NCV

And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Matthew 28:20b NLT

God is with you, today, tomorrow, forever.

He is with you in this pandemic. He is with you in the uncertainty of this season. God is with you as you work, as you rest, as you ponder, as you question. He’s with you always, even when you forget He is.

This truth helps me relax. It reminds me that I have nothing to fear. It calms me when I get nervous about this pandemic. This truth strengthens me when I feel weak. It encourages me to keep on keeping on. Because, goodness, the Creator of me and everything I see is with me! The God of the universe and everything in it is by my side! Hallelujah! I don’t have to face anything in this life on my own. And, friend, you don’t have to either.

Let that sink in for a moment.

I don’t know what you’re facing today, but God knows. No matter what, He’s with you in it. Recite the above scriptures. Write them down. Allow them to sink deep into your soul. Then believe them. Because knowing God is with us makes all the difference in our days, in our thoughts, in our actions, in our lives.

Who besides us could use this reminder? Someone in your life and mine is struggling on their own. They’ve forgotten this truth. Our reminder of “God is with you” may just be what they need to hear today.

God is with you today, friend. Go out there and live like He is. And if you need a little proof, here is the raw photo of this morning’s beautiful Iowa sky.

Your sky is breathtaking morning and night!!! We are isolating right now. My husband was exposed to Covid at work. We are distancing from each other too. We’re feeling well, but it’s a weird kind of lonely. Thank you for these scriptures. They bring comfort to me. We’re never alone no matter how weird the world gets! Bless you Julie!
