Am I The Most Positive And Enthusiastic Person I Know?

by | Jul 26, 2020 | #open2020, Real Life

Be the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.

H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

H. Jackson Brown, Jr., that’s a tall order, sir. It is for me anyway.

I want to be the most positive and enthusiastic person I know. Really, I do. But, in all reality, I know I’m not. I mean, on some days during this pandemic I have had to fight to think a single positive thought. The negative ones filled mind, so much so, there was little room for anything else. And, quite honestly, I can’t remember the last time I was deep-down enthusiastic about something. Anything!

I could do better.

Goodness. Maybe I’ve let this pandemic get the best of me. Or maybe I haven’t filled my mind with enough positive / uplifting / inspiring things. Or maybe I just needed a wake up call today. To make some changes and shake things up.

We become what we think about.

Earl Nightingale

I’ve also heard it said, “What we think about, we bring about.” We all know our thoughts impact our lives in tremendous ways. Our thoughts are powerful. So, it’s wise of us to check our thoughts every now and then. And then to make adjustments when needed.

Am I the Most Positive and Enthusiastic Person I Know?

To be the most positive and enthusiastic person I know.

How are you doing with this, friend? What are you enthusiastic about today? How are you staying positive and enthusiastic during this season? What’s your secret to keeping your thoughts positive?

Every morning I walk outdoors, weather permitting. I pray as I walk. Along with praying for those I love and other needs, I pray for myself. I pray for the Holy Spirit to control my thoughts throughout the day, and to help me take “every thought captive.” Because, left to myself, I’ve already proven in this season my thoughts can quickly go south. But, asking the Holy Spirit to take charge? Well, that’s an entirely different situation.

We are taking prisoners of every thought, every emotion, and subduing them into obedience to the Anointed One.

2 Corinthians 10:5b VOICE

Only through the Holy Spirit’s presence can my thoughts remain positive.

Now, however, would also be a good time to add to my prayer His equipping for me to be a more enthusiastic person. Especially in this season.

We could all use a little more enthusiasm, couldn’t we?

The word ‘enthusiasm’ comes from the Greek word ‘entheos’ which means the God within. And the happiest, most interesting people are those who have found the secret of maintaining their enthusiasm, that God within.

Earl Nightingale

Because God is within me, that gives me every reason and ability to be a more enthusiastic person. Not for my sake, but for His.

Yes, our thoughts matter. Let’s encourage one another to be the most positive and enthusiastic people we know. Someone in your life and mine needs our positivity and enthusiasm. We can make a difference!

God bless you!

Well, this is timely! I just told my husband I was tired of being the positive one. The one trying to hold our church together!! Can I be honest? It’s tiring and discouraging, especially when no one seems to care! And then you remind me that “God within me gives me every reason to be enthusiastic.” HELLO!!! Think God was using you to speak to me? He usually does! Thank you my friend!

It’s hard sometimes, isn’t it? Being the positive one? But you are a bright light for God in this world and you can’t help but shine. It’s an honor to be your friend and to journey through life online with you. Thanks for again being here!
