A Pregnant Kitty, Bob the Builder and a Beautiful Day!

by | May 5, 2009 | This Lefe Family

As I write this, I’m sitting at our dining room table, soaking in the warm spring air that’s coming through our back deck door. The sun is shining, I can hear the birds singing, and our outside cat is roaming around on the back deck/patio area soaking up the sun…she’s VERY pregnant and is looking like she’s ready to deliver her kittens at any moment! 🙂 As Mr. Rogers would say, “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood!”

My day changed this morning as Zach woke up. After he ate breakfast, he went back to bed for a few minutes, which he sometimes does. After he got dressed, I found him wrapped up in a blanket in the recliner asleep. He complained he was so tired, and he sure looked it! I gave him the choice of going to school or staying home…normally he would choose school, but since he chose to stay home, I figured he was serious about being so tired and needed more rest. So…he went back to bed and I took Ali to school alone. Zach slept until after 10am! He still looks tired, but no fever and he ate a decent lunch. I’m thinking he’ll take another nap this afternoon. 🙂

So, no Mission Tuesday for me today. I am getting caught up on laundry, worked in my office for a short time, have organized a few more places in our home (under kitchen sink, cleaned out the refrigerator, our shoe bin in laundry room), have hung out with Zach and watched parts of plenty of PBS shows (Bob the Builder is on now)! 🙂 I think watching these shows that he used to watch as a little boy is taking him back to his “good ol’ days!” I catch him smiling a few times off and on through these shows. I’m soaking it all in, knowing these kinds of days with him are few and far between.

This day has flown! Where has the time gone? Days like this can sometimes frustrate me…when time seems to slip by me so fast and I feel like I still have so much to do. Not today though…I’m cherishing this time at home. Bill is home too this afternoon, due to his work schedule. He’s on his laptop, and I’m on mine. It’s a funny sight, both of us on our laptops and Bob the Builder is on in the living room! 🙂

I’ll be leaving soon to pick up Ali from school and take her to golf practice. I’ll run a few errands while she’s there. I plan to soak in as much of this beautiful day as possible! I hope you are finding simple things to enjoy in your day as well!

Whew! Some days, the winds of life are way too strong for us!

But they aren't for God.

If you're not feeling valued and important right now, remember you will always be to the One who created you. And that's what really matters.

You are important.
You are valued.

Remember that in this moment and share it with another who needs this reminder too.
