Tom’s Alfredo Sauce Recipe

by | Jul 6, 2009 | main dish, recipes

Here is Tom A.’s recipe for his Alfredo Sauce that he made at Mission of Hope last Wednesday! I mentioned in that post that if I received his recipe, I would share it with you! Seeing the ingredients, I now realize why it was so amazingly good! 🙂 Enjoy!

Tom’s Alfredo Sauce
1 Pint of heavy whipping cream
2 TBSP of Philidelphia cream cheese
1 Stick of butter (not margerine)
5-6 oz shredded Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 TSP garlic salt
1 1/2 TSP garlic powder(opt)
1 TBSP flour or corn starch for thickening
Melt butter, heavy cream, and cream cheese together. Once they are well mixed, add the garlic powder, garlic salt, and Parmesan cheese & simmer 15-20 min. The longer you simmer it the better the taste. I usually simmer for the recommend time & then start the pasta. About 5 or 10 min before it is served, add the thickening one TBSP at a time stirring in between to get the desired consistency. Remember to brown or sear chicken or shrimp or whatever else you want to serve with it before you thicken it. This is based off of the recipe for the Olive Garden Alfredo sauce and I fixed it.
