Last evening I about wanted to throw in the towel.
I had had enough.
Bill’s accident. Emotions on edge. Dealing with situations beyond our control. The possibility of the car that hit Bill being uninsured. Trusting God to keep Mission of Hope’s doors open. Working through tough circumstances that I cannot mention here. Bill’s debit card being shut down due to someone outside of the country trying to use it. Questioning why God is allowing these things to happen.
If I could have packed up our family and left for Pensacola Beach for a week, I would have. I wanted to run. And I wanted to run right away.
But that wasn’t the answer. I knew it wasn’t. I knew we needed to stay right where we belong, and face these things head on and continue to trust that God is allowing these things to happen for a reason.
And I began to think of all the things I was thankful for…
- Bill is alive after his accident with only minor injuries
- My children are healthy
- I am able to exercise
- We have a wonderful, peaceful home
- My marriage to Bill
- All our vehicles are working
- Our extended family
- Our jobs
- God’s unconditional love
- Our salvation
- Healthy heart, lungs, etc.
- Coffee! 🙂
- The special people God has placed in my life
- My friends
