So, Let Me Tell You About My Experience With Stitch Fix

by | Nov 17, 2018 | My Favorites

Ever heard of Stitch Fix?

I had seen a post about this shopping/styling service come across my Twitter feed a couple years ago. It piqued my interest, and after seeing it a few times, I thought I’d give it a try.

What is Stitch Fix?

It’s an online styling service that delivers a personalized shopping experience for women, men, and now kids. After filing out an online Style Profile, a personal stylist will handpick pieces to fit your tastes, needs and budget, and mail them right to your door.

Each box contains a selection of five items–clothing, shoes and accessories–for you to try on at home. You keep the items you love and send back the rest in a prepaid USPS envelope. Shipping and returns are free—even for exchanges.

A $20 Styling Fee is applied to your Fix (a Fix is what the package of items is called), and you can use that $20 towards anything you purchase. Online you also choose when you want your Fix to arrive. You can order on demand or set up automatic shipments.

I was excited for my first Fix! The box and packaging were awesome. A personalized note with a Style Card for suggestions in what to wear with each item was included. (Loved this!)

But, I was a bit disappointed. My first Fix wasn’t as great as I expected it to be. The sizes weren’t right (I didn’t love them enough to request an exchange) and the styles weren’t my favorite. I chose two items and sent the others back.

I wasn’t sold on this service. Yet.

The following month I tried Stitch Fix again. I kept one piece and sent the others back. Still, I wasn’t thrilled, but I loved the blouse I kept. The same happened with the next two Fixes.

In returning the items, however, I was given the opportunity to share what I didn’t love about them and to provide feedback. This helped my stylist in understanding my preferences and style.

But, something happened with my July 2017 (my fourth) Fix. It was as if my stylist finally “got” me. I loved every piece and kept them all! And, with every Fix since, it’s been the same. I’ve loved and kept every piece!

But, there’s something you must know about me.

I shop the sale racks. I rarely pay full-price for clothing. I’ll often wait until something goes on sale before I purchase it. That’s just me.

So, sometimes the price of Stitch Fix items stops me from purchasing. I’ve chosen the least expensive option for items in my Style Profile, but still, I can have a hard time justifying paying full-price.

That’s where the 25% off comes in.

When you purchase all five items in your Fix, you receive 25% off the total! That makes me feel better. And, every once in awhile, they’ll throw in a promotion and waive the Styling Fee, which I truly appreciate.

Another cool thing is you can also receive a $25 credit for each person you refer! Plus, the person you refer gets a $25 credit too after checking out! (I wish I would have realized this on my first Fix. I could have used that $25 credit!)

Interested in trying Stitch Fix for the first time?

How about receiving a $25 credit?

This link will allow you to do so. Just so you know, I’ll receive this sweet $25 credit, too! Be sure to be as specific as possible in your Style Profile to receive better results right away in your Fixes.

Let me know how it goes! Send me pics of what you receive. If you’re already using Stitch Fix, what’s been your most favorite piece so far?

I usually schedule a Fix three to four times a year to update my sometimes sad seasonal wardrobe. My next one is scheduled to arrive in December. I’ll do a detailed post after! I hope you enjoy this fun service as much as I do!

P.S. Here’s an outfit from my latest Fix. The blouse, the kimono, and the necklace all came in this Fix.

Just to clarify, the links included in this post are referral links. After clicking these links and checking out with your own Stitch Fix, you receive a $25 credit and so do I. We’ll be the most stylin’ girls around!

There's a group of special women out there who, for one reason or another, show up to church alone.

At a former church, an entire row was filled with us women who came without spouses or families, and we created quite a bond. We knew we needed it--and each other.

I get it--it's not so easy to do somedays, walking in alone, sitting by oneself, but every time, God meets me there.

If you went to church by yourself or know someone who did today, I see you. I'm with you. I am praying for you. Keep showing up. Your presence matters more than you know.

Sometimes the most sacred moments don’t look polished. Sometimes they include a book, a lap full of grandsons, and yes—even a finger in a nose.😉

But this? This is legacy.
This is love.
This is what matters right now.🩷

You don’t have to have it all together to make a difference.
Your presence is enough. Your faithfulness is forming something eternal.🌸

Keep showing up, even when life feels messy. God is using it all. 🙌
