Mondays are a Blessing!

I have just about had enough…I can only imagine how God must feel.

I’m going to get on my “soapbox” here in my post today.  Today is Monday.  It’s Monday, March 8, 2010.  There will never be another Monday, March 8, 2010.  NEVER! 

I have read too many status updates on Facebook this morning regarding how people dislike Mondays.  Do people really understand what they are saying and how a negative attitude can affect themselves and everyone around them?  Do people really hate Mondays that bad?  Do they understand they are putting down something God created?  How does God feel about that??

I remember a time when I dreaded Mondays due to my life and the job I worked at.  I lived for weekends and having fun.  Life, for me back then, was about ME, and only focusing on having fun.  (I was so immature!)  But over time, God showed me some selfish things about myself, and that Mondays aren’t about ME…He created them for His purpose, not for MINE.  It makes me sick thinking about how I used to be! 

He also showed me some major things I was missing…He showed me that EACH day is important, EACH day matters, He created EACH day, and there will never be another day like this one…EVER!

God also led me to a different career, to different people in my life, and to His Word about each day.  We are instructed to rejoice in each day, and to be glad in it.  Even if things don’t go our way, we can still choose to be glad and thankful.  It’s better than the alternative.  It’s no fun being around someone who is so negative about any day, let alone each Monday!  There’s 52 of them!  Why be negative about 52 days out of the year??!!

For years now I have chosen to rejoice in Mondays…I wake up on Mondays early, because I choose to.  I get to have a full day ahead of me with taking the kids to school, my Bible Study Fellowship leaders’ meeting, usually come home and spend the afternoon in my office, pick the kids up from school, have dinner with my family, and either have a MK meeting, MK conference call, or other family commitment that evening.  Mondays aren’t bad…they are a blessing!

So the next time you feel led to complain about Mondays, may you remember:
