Thanksgiving. It’s a day in November we in the States celebrate with food and thankfulness to God. But, really, it’s even more than that. Thanksgiving is a way of life. So, as I gave this some thought today, I realized I desire to be more intentional about cultivating thankfulness into my own life.
When I think of thanksgiving, sure I think of the holiday, but I also think of God’s goodness. Lauren Daigle’s song, How Can it Be, perfectly depicts my wonder of God. For example, how can it be that the God of all Creation could love me, would save me, would bless me? Me, the one who has fallen so far, yet never far enough from Him. It all nearly brings me to tears. So, naturally, thanksgiving is my response. When you stop to think about God and His goodness, is giving thanks your response, too? I’m guessing it might be.
So, I did some searching today and found fifteen Bible verses that are perfect for Thanksgiving, the day, and thanksgiving, the life. They’ve encouraged me so much, I’m sharing them with you. Use them as you’d like. For instance, make them into a prayer. Read them aloud at Thanksgiving dinner. Meditate on a different one each morning. However you use them, I believe you will be blessed.
